Description

Amyl Salicylate is an aromatic ester belonging to the salicylate family, formed by the condensation of salicylic acid with an amyl alcohol. Chemically it is classified among the esters of salicylic acid. It is also identified under the name AMYL SALICYLATE. The assigned technical functions are skin conditioning and perfuming. Skin conditioning agents are ingredients incorporated into formulations to modify the sensory properties of the product on the skin surface, while perfuming agents provide olfactory character to the finished product.

Under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on cosmetic products, this ingredient is listed in Annex III, reference 328, which corresponds to the list of substances subject to specific restrictions for use in cosmetic products placed on the market of the European Union.
