Description
Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil is a volatile essential oil of plant origin, obtained from the flowers of Bourbon geranium (Pelargonium graveolens, Geraniaceae family). Its declared technical function is fragrance. Ingredients classified as fragrance are incorporated into cosmetic formulations to provide an olfactory profile to the finished product.
Under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, this ingredient appears in Annex III of substances subject to restrictions, under reference 364. The regulation does not set a numerical maximum concentration for its use in the finished cosmetic product, but it does establish a specific obligation to declare it in the list of ingredients: "The presence of the substance shall be indicated in the list of ingredients referred to in Article 19(1), point (g), when its concentration exceeds: — 0,001 % in leave-on products — 0,01 % in rinse-off products". This means that, once those thresholds are exceeded, its presence must be indicated in the list of ingredients. No additional mandatory labelling warnings have been established, nor is any restriction by product type applied. The substance is not classified as CMR under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
The information presented is for technical reference only and does not constitute a recommendation for use or an efficacy claim.
