Description

Dialuminium nickel tetraoxide [1]; Nickel titanium trioxide [2]; Nickel titanium oxide [3]; Nickel divanadium hexaoxide [4]; Cobalt dimolybdenum nickel octaoxide [5]; Nickel zirkonium trioxide [6]; Molybdenum nickel tetraoxide [7]; Nickel tungsten tetraoxide [8]; Olivine, nickel green [9]; Lithium nickel dioxide [10]; Molybdenum nickel oxide [11] form a group of eleven substances, mostly mixed oxides of nickel combined with aluminum, titanium, vanadium, cobalt, molybdenum, zirconium, tungsten or lithium, together with the entry Olivine, nickel green.

The group is included in Annex II of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, reference 1463. Annex II lists the substances whose presence is not authorized in cosmetic products marketed in the European Union. The eleven compounds in the group share the hazard classification CMR Carcinogenic Cat. 1A under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), which establishes the harmonized European system for the classification and labelling of hazardous substances and mixtures. Within the CLP scheme, the category Carcinogenic Cat. 1A corresponds to substances with known carcinogenic potential in humans, determined mainly on the basis of human evidence.
